September 5 is a tense and thrilling docudrama about the ABC sports broadcasting team that covered the hostage crisis at 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
I watched, and loved. Considering its topic, it cannot be 100% apolitical, but the focus was definitely on the journalists (which is one of my favourite movie themes). I'm especially glad I never missed out on actress Leonie Benesch. Her 'Teacher's Lounge' was one of my favourites last year, and she's solid as part of the ensemble here. As for ensemble, maybe the third best of the past year (after 'Saturday Night Live' and 'Christmas Eve in Miller's Point'). Thanks for persuading me to press play!
Yes, I like movies about journalists too. There is something about them that makes the heart go a little faster. The SNL movie and the other haven’t been released in the Netherlands yet, but I will keep an eye out for them.
I wasn't going to watch, as my inner protest for Palestine, but your statement that its apolitical tempts me.

Journalism movies allow me, for a moment, to think that journalism is real. It reminds me of being young and less jaded.
As a simple film journalist I’ll be the first to admit I really enjoy living vicariously through great actors playing real journalists :-)
